This statement applies to wearemotionbay.co.uk, run by Parkstrasse Limited, trading as Motion Bay.
The standard we build to
The pages a motorist needs, pay or appeal, the appeal form, the appeals process, the fairness promise and the complaints procedure, are built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. The rest of the site is built to the same standard.
In practice this means:
- every page works with a keyboard alone, and there is a skip link to the main content;
- text and controls have enough contrast to read, and the site uses no colour alone to carry meaning;
- every button and link on the motorist pages is at least 48 pixels tall, so it can be tapped on a phone;
- forms have visible labels, hints, and error messages that say what to do;
- the motorist pages are written in plain English, with short sentences;
- animation runs once and stops, and is switched off when your device asks for reduced motion;
- pages work on a screen 380 pixels wide, without anything scrolling sideways;
- images that carry meaning have text alternatives, and diagrams are described.
We test every page with automated checks and by driving it on a phone-sized screen.
Known limitations
We are not aware of any part of the site that fails WCAG 2.2 AA. If you find one, please tell us.
